Waterpump question

My 2002 90 Yamaha has been running fine but I'm only getting water coming from the telltale and nothing from the two holes in the midsection of the shaft. Is the waterpump functioning properly if I'm not seeing any volume from those holes. No matter how long the motor runs for it never gets hot, barely warm actually. Every other outboard I've had showed significant water volume from these holes, but nothing from this one. As I said the motor is running fine, just wondering if this is anything to be concerned about.

Those two holes are bypass ports and you may see only a very fine mist or at best a dribble. Exhaust and the cooling water exits through the hub of the prop.
