My used boat came with a tube and a pair of OMC skis. I've only done snow skiing (maybe 10 times) so just how hard/safe is it? What exactly happens when you smack the water at say, 20 mph?

Re: Waterskiing?

Actually your best skiing is at 25MPH and smacking the water is a lot softer than snow/ice. Just my .02>>>

Chris:

Kids love tubing but it will beat you to death, learning to ski is a blast. Bart Sr. is right, on two skis 25mph is a good speed. On one ski, I ski about 35 - 38 and the water gets a little harder. Invest in a wakeboard, it is a little easier to master than one ski. Ski within your limits, don't do stupid stuff like pull skiers under bridges, and shut off the engine when you pick up a fallen rider. Have a blast
