Waukesha, WI area fishing

I'm heading for Waukesha in a couple of weeks and will be there for a week. I will have 2-3 hrs each day in the afternoon with nothing to do. I'm planning on taking a couple rods with me to try out some Wisconsin fishing, no boat though. Are there anyone in the area can give me a recommendation of bodies of water?

you can try the east end of pewaukee lake, their is a park area by the beach that i see people fishing from. That would be about 5 miles north of waukesha. or you can try your luck about 20 minutes north and west in oconomowoc, their are 2 lakes with fishing piers : Lac la belle and Fowler, both right in town. other than that, maybe try fishing in the fox river in waukesha? not sure i have seen many people take their rods their. most of the other lakes dont have much shore-fishing access.

Lots of lakes in that area, those are my stomping grounds. Pewaukee is the biggest and the easiest to get on. Okauchee is a nice lake too, smaller but with many different bays and weed beds. There other smaller lakes like Pine, Oconomowoc, Lac La Belle, and Pine also nearby. Take a look at a map of the area and you'll see what I'm talking about. For fishing though I would recommend Pewaukee or Okauchee, (btw Okauchee has a free public launch).

Unfortunately, I won't be able to take my boat with me or I'll be on them big lakes for sure. I'm a bass fisherman as you can see in my avatar so I would needs good shoreline access.

i have seen people pull bass outa lac la belle, it is known for holding a fair amount of smallies. and like i said before their is a fishing pier on both that lake and fowler, although ive had limited success on the lac la belle pier. I myself have pulled a few bass outa fowler though, although its been kinda hit and miss lately. The weather has cooled off considerably this week so they might start coming back in towards shore (hopefully, since i have winterized the boat, i gonna be a landlocked fisherman myself )

Already? I wait as long as possible. It's too painful to look at my boat and knowing that I can't use it because it have been winterized.

yeah, i may have panicked. i took it in monday cuz i was noticing the low temps for the nite were gonna hover right around the freezing mark. but now i am looking at long range forecast for next week and its supposed to be highs in the mid 60's, lows around 40-45. oh well, better safe than sorry, winter can come on anytime in these parts (and it will be my first winter with this boat so i am being extra cautious)
