Re: wax?

CC - Have you tried the 3M Marine stuff? It is hard as a rock and is a lot of work to put on but once it's one it wears like iron. What's the Dolfinite like to put on and how long does it last for you?

3M Marine Ultra Performance Paste WaxÆs unique polymer technology provides the durability of an acrylic with the soil release and water beading properties of a fluoropolymer and silicone, making it the most advanced product of its kind. It will leave a protective high gloss finish on marine fiberglass gelcoat, marine topside paints, painted aluminum and metal parts. The easy-on/easy-off formulation will save time and effort and leave our boat with a long lasting protection that retards U.V. light damage.
Easy on/off is not true. It is hard stuff.

Re: wax?

I have the 3m and I hate it!! As you said it is hard to put on and hard to get off,and it didnt last long at all.It did clean well but it was blotchy because it did not smoothe well. The dolfinite goes on very smooth, even in the sun,and comes off easy.It lasts a long time too.The best I have used and like I said,I tried them all.I used to have a dark blue hulled boat and I am not happy unless it sparkled. So I had to try them all.I wound up mixing the 3m with a cheap liquid wax just so I could finish using it up.The only time the 3m went on smoothe is the time it started drizzling as I was applying it.Charlie

Re: wax?

Ralph,I found that if I put it on early in the am when it is cool and no sun yet,and leave it on the entire day until almost sundown and then remove it ,it lasted way longer .It must actually soak in to some point.Charlie

Re: wax?

Thanks CC - I'll try that. Do you use their T-Wax or the one step?
