Re: waxing

Either or works, really. We detail a lot of boats at my shop, and it really depends on the finish on the boat. If there is a lot of oxidation on the finish they they will buff with some light abrasive wax. If the owner takes good care of it, pulls it out of the water, wipes it down every time, then a good hand wax will work. Unless you have some issues on the finish of the boat, you can do it either way.

Re: waxing

the finish is in great condition. some scuff marks from the dock. i bought the meguires fleetwax and it said apply with buffer and remove with cloth. on vehicles i have always applied with cloth and removed with buffer. just wanted to know if it mattered. didn't want to mess up first boat. thanks for responses.

What do you think of the fleetwax? Did it come off easily, did it leave the boat real glossy?... I normally use Eagle 1 car wax on my boat and it looks really good, but doesn't stay on too long.

Re: waxing

I apply way with an orbital using a foam pad. I remove it with an orbital using a microfiber pad. I use this method on both the cars and boat.
