The other night I took one of our workers with me when I went to town. On the way back I told him we were going to stop for a treat - I was thirsty. Got him a cup of ice cream. Here is a 36 year old man that is beaming from ear to ear - first ice cream he has ever had! Man, we take way to much for granted!

All our workers and their wives are coming to a Valentine's Dinner tomorrow night - cake and ice cream is on the dessert menu!

Oh, an hour before sunset today it was 95.4 degrees in the shade. How cold is it in central PA right now?

Right on, Aspeck.

Sometimes it seems to me that only those who lived through the Great Depression in this country, and remember it, realize what a luxurious standard of living we have.

It has been a long time since I have been around a peoples (interior mexico) that had so little and were so thankful for what they had. I must admit I am slightly jealous of you aspeck...Realizing that: alone is a treasure. It truly does make you more appriciative, and realize how trivial we can be sometimes. I think of you often over there. We are above 32 degrees today for the first time in quite awhile. A couple weeks ago we were -30...You can keep the iceream :D

Re: We take so much for granted!

Had the Valentine's Dinner for our workers and their wives. They sure did enjoy it - even though some of the wives were uncomfortable because they never used silverware before!

They enjoyed trying new foods, loved the presents, and we had a great time of sharing and fellowship. Only thing that would have made the evening better would have been for "She who must be obeyed" (actually a term of endearment, not a statement of her personality) to have been by my side instead of the other side of the globe.

ditto aspek!
being on crutches for a couple of weeks sure opens
your eyes to little things like walking into the
kitchen for a cup of coffee without assistance.
the humble will be crowned with salvation :)

Crabbait sounds kinda like a movie called "The gods must be crazy"

Anyway, I truly believe that every American should have to live in a 3rd world country. Many people dont know how good we have it.

Ken
