Hi All, I hope that you can help me fix this 40 HP Merucry Tracker. It's a 4 cyl and when I start it, fuel squirts out from the brass thing on the lower carburator (see pic). Thanks in advance

A dirty or clogged carb will do this. I would first add some sea foam to the gas and see if that helps clean it out. If not you will need to remove and PROPERLY clean the carb that is leaking.

I'd take the carb apart and replace the sunk float.

Needle valve is stuck open. This can be caused by a piece of debris in the valve itself, or a sunk float. If it's debris, you need to figure out where it came from. Most likely source if there's a filter on the engine is fuel hoses disintegrating inside.

Don't even think of tearing into the carb without a gasket kit in hand. This problem can also be cause by bad gaskets. Otherwise it's an easy shade tree mechanic project.

hope it helps
