Just purchased a glastron 1978 fish ski with 140 1978 merc, plan to put on a transom saver that ihad made up per my mechanics instrctions. He wants 400 to put it on but i think i can do it with my engine hoist in my garage.. i only want to take the engine up a few inches so im removing the steering cable and nothing else except the bolts holding on the hydraulic lift and engine.. my question is whats the best way to hook up to the merc to lift it off the transom???
