Hey guys,

I searched for Weather Packs but didn't find much.

The original plastic clip (ignition-->CLIPMALE/CLIPFEMALE<--motor) in my electric start boat is designed so the terminals that go in have metal tabs protruding out bottom so when clipped together they won't push out. CANT FIND THESE ANYWHERE by any brand.

I have no idea about this, can I just replace the entire clip and rewire the entire thing brand new with using this 4 pin weatherpack?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Weat...r_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item1c066f8045
(says it's rated to 20A). Is that sufficient? If this will even work good for a boat.

Only wires I run from ign is (2)magneto, (1)powerchoke, (1)safety cut.
(4) total.

Is there anything you guys can add about using weatherpacks for a boat (16' aluminum, 33hp nothing special)? Is it as simple as it sound, just connect the weather packs as they should, and simply plug each end together, completely replacing the original harness ends (w/ spade terminals originally in it). Weatherpacks have the blade connector, never used weather packs before, so I'm just gathering knowledge before trying. THANKS!

I don't think you'll exceed 20amp continuously with your system; but what AWG are your wires? The biggest you can cram into a Weatherpack is 10AWG.

12awg and 14awg. i can find weatherpacks in these sizes.
I'm just curious about using them, that's all.

Are they EXACTLY the same thing as my original snap together clips?
If they are, i'd rather just buy these and use them... You know, make an ENTIRELY new harness.
I've only heard of these being used on cars, so I'm ok to replace the original harness system with a weatherpack? (seems like a "yes", since it's doing the same job as it would under the hood of a car, transferring current through a quick-connect plug,)
