I want to patch an acrylic boat cover with some leftover fabric the canvas shop gave me when they built it. The boat is at my dock from now until Oct. 1, exposed to sun, wind and rain the entire time. Looking for an adhesive that will stand up to those conditions. Pls don't refer me back to the canvas shop. They will tell me to buy a new cover, and that's not in the budget right now. Many thanks for your help.

Gee most adhesives are waterproof. Even Titebond III which is a wood glue is weather proof.

I've used Weldwood contact cement because I was too lazy to sew it.. works reasonably well but nothing lasts forever...

I've used a product before called "Tear Aid". It's used to repair cuts/holes in tents. Very sticky stuff. Used it on a pop-up tent to re-anchor a couple velcro ties. Still holding strong a few years later.

Not sure how it'd adhere to a fabric cover but worth a shot. Got mine through a local sporting goods store - wanna say it was under $10 at the time.

I have not had luck gluing anything to waterproof fabric.

Even silicone comes off if you keep up with waterproofing

Get some UV stable thread and a needle and sew on the patch

Try "goop", I use it alot, never had it come off !! Repaired a couple awning tears with it, lasted a few years till I sold it..
