weber /carter AFB carb on 454.

I have a AFB on a 454 chevy and the choke butter fly is missing and I dont know if it is suppose to be electric or manual. But I dont see you running a cable up that far. So does any one have a parts carb or a choke setup for a carter AFB? If so email me. I need all the info on it I can get. <br /><br />thanks

This is a great carb. The first one put on marine engines where manual with a bymatalic spring on the intake manifold. The problem was that they were hard starting. Hard to adjust. They made a change to and electric choke and they started easier but still where hard starts some times. You had to make sure they stayed in adjustment and didnt pump the throtle too many time when starting engine. Once the engine running they run great.
