Hey everyone I recently got a pontoon for the family and today was the first day I took it out. While riding I noticed it started to run rough and a few seconds after I had an alarm go off. I shut the motor down and waited a minute I restarted it and resumed cruising again. Shortly after it did it again I back off to idle and looked back at the motor. I did not see any disturbance in the water from a weep hole. I am thinking the impeller went out and the motor started to over heat due to lack of water. It is a 1992 johnson 150 fast strike, it was a transplant the PO did. I let it sit with the motor off for about 10 minutes then cruised back to the boat ramp. It will be wednesday before I can look at it again. Do you think I am headed in the right direction with my on the water diagnosis?
