I have a Aluminum 18 ft Sylvan Skipper from 1979 in excellent garage kept condition that I am redoing. I have a 79 Evinrude 140 (about 300 lbs) on the back. I am using a Panther Marine Tech Model 40 tilt/trim bracket (27 lbs)(http://www.marinetechproducts.com/pages/TrimTiltModel40) to mount a 9.9 kicker (about 100 lbs) on.

With the kicker setup total approx weight on the transom is 425 lbs. Is this too much?

I also have battery and gas in the stern.

QUESTIONS:
1. Should I move the battery and gas to the bow?
2. If yes, is it okay to run the gas line all the way from the bow of the boat to the motor? If so what is the best routing path (down gunwale or under the floor)?

Thanks

hi scott.......we will try not to get this one so heated......lol

as far as the weight......im not looking at your boat...so i cant tell......but..in the sticky at the top of the forum....is weight and balance calculations form the uscg. this will help you determine what you can hang off the back

after you have got your motors and plate on.......splash the boat......

then go for a run......take a kid or two with you....have them move around the boat....and see what the best weight configuration is......a kid only weighs 50 lbs....that is a tank and a batt.

depending on where you move the stuff....routing is simple....i like a pvc tube under the deck....some like it under the gunwhales...its your boat and your call....
