Weight of 115 hp Merc . (1988)?

Have a 1972 Mako C/C and would like to repower it. A 115 hp 4 stroke merc. weighs in around 390 lbs. The transom sits low now with the old motor. Think I might have to stick with a 90 hp 2 stroke. Any suggestions? Will the 90 give me the same performance as the old 115?<br />Thanks

I don't know too much about this, but an old 115hp was measured at the crankshaft, a newer 90hp would be measured at the prop. That 115hp is only getting around 100hp to the prop.

Check out NADA.com they should have at least an approximate weight for that motor.
