Weird sounds when motor is off

I have a 2008 Suzuki 115 hp outboard. It's working fine but lately (while motor is off and not in use) I hear a sound from the motor every now and then. The sound is the same sound that it makes when raising or lowering the motor. I'm stumped as to what is causing this sound to be heard on and off all the time when the motor is not in use. Any help out there would be GREATLY appreciated. Bob

unplug your trim switch mounted on the side of your engine cover and see if it stops doing it. More than likely that switch is bad, letting a small amount of power through to the trim motor

Thank you very much. I checked as you said and that does seem to be the problem. A new switch will is in order! Bob
