Either way I bought it, Now just wondering if I made a good decision? I researched the crap out of the 4.3GL and was very confident with my purchase, I get their and it's a 4.3GS. Very happy with the hull and interior, just wondering if I made a mistake on the engine. SX out drive, What can I expect for horsepower, top end, and most important reliability?

Thanks for taking the time

Basically the same motor.
It's a Chevy block and Volvo drive.
Not much better out there.
35-45mph maybe more.
Volvo's the best.
A bit more expensive to buy parts but if you maintain it it will last a LONG time.

I bought a 4.3gl 1997 this summer. Its on a GlaSTRON 18"...It is a very strong engine....Mine was super clean and well taken care of with new gimbal/bellows and starter...I paid 7500 for the boat and trailer....The condition of the seats was fantastic....but i did put a new top on it....You're right about the gl...but i believe most Volvo's are dependable....I am sure you'rs is too. Mine runs with a 14 by19' prop and gets over 50mph with two adults....but its shallow( 2245 lbs ) and sleek.

Same Engine, the GS has a 4bbl Carb and the GL has a 2bbl carb. I believe volvo says the GS is good for around 210hp, instead of 190 with the GL.
