I have a West Bend Model 9503, Serial C-2773. 9hp. Can anyone tell me the year and if these were any good? It's in great shape just missing the cover. Is it worth keeping?

That appears to be a 1965. I'm not familiar with that particular model, but as a whole, West Bends were decent motors. The plastic gear on the recoil starter is a weak spot and they are getting hard to find.....If yours even has the plastic gear design, I don't know.

Re: West Bend info

The motor was ok in its day.West Bend became Chrysler circa 65/66.Became Force circa 85.
It wouldn't be my choice as an everyday motor.Parts can just be too much of a pain to get when there are other motors that are so much easier to find parts for.The E/J 9.9 for example.there is a vast supply of new and used parts available from dozens of venders on the net.As well as many BRP dealers.
