Before I covered my boat for the winter wet leafs stained my non-skid swim platform. I tried fantastic and hull cleaner and they did not remove the stains. Does anyone know what will remove the stains.

Thanks for any help.

In my experience they will go away on they're own when exposed to the sun's uv ray for a few days.

Starbrite Non-Skid Cleaner with PTFE works wonders and protects from future stains…..If it's too tough to get out - McGuiars cleaner wax and a little elbow grease and it will come right off…..

although magic eraser would probably work, too, it is actually fine wet sanding and could dull finish

Magic eracer is magic. For real they work great. I also bought a deck brush and some non skid cleaner and it works great. Every boat should have a good deck brush.

On non-skid, I use a stiff bristle brush with regualar old boat / vehicle wash and scrub the non-skid vigerously. Cleans right up every time.

I guess the secret is to not let the stains sit there too long.

Re: Wet leaf stains

For wood/furniture/flooring stain removal Oxalic acid Is used with great success...you can buy a small package of it at Home Depot or similar store....it's great stuff to have around for stubborn stains!....

Re: Wet leaf stains

similar to William's suggestion: dish soap and chlorox. This is what a used boat and junk boat yard guy said they use for pine pollen stains and everything else. The soap cuts the stuff and floats it to the top, and also holds the chlorox on the surface, so don't underestimate it (or use it to thicken other products--note that toilet bowl cleaner is thick). And let it sit after you scrub it up to a lather.

When all else fails, or to save time and energy~~ muriatic acid. Wear gloves and wax when finished.

I live in the woods and fight this problem a lot. Bleach will remove the stain but you need something to hold it in place. I use MaryKate non-skid cleaner...looks and smells like liquid Comet
