The question is, are they wet with water or fuel?<br />If water, leaking water jacket. If fuel, carbs set too rich. But it is better to run rich than to run too lean.<br />Tooo rich, you fould plugs<br />Too lean, you under-lubricate one or more cylinders, and it grinds itself to death.
I have an 1982 50 hp Johnson. It runs very good. But when I take out the plugs they are very wet. I have them set at 0.40 I see on here some pepole say they should be set at 0.30
