I know any day is a great day to be out on a boat, but it does not get much nicer than it was here in Columbus today. It was cloudy and overcast this morning, but about 2:30 it cleared up and was just over 80 degrees.

I called every one of my adult kids and asked my wife and nobody wanted to go out. I said great, I'm going by myself and I stayed out for about four hours. Anchored and swam a couple times and then just cruised and played the stereo a little.

Rain all day here....and a bit of a tummy bug...so no boating for me. Heck, we've made a total of four trips this year...with no boating predicted in the near future.

first i read your title, then looked at your location, then i looked at your boat and said man this guy has some guts. so i read your tread and said oh, ok, columbus. i wanted to go out so bad today but there was a small craft advisor on erie, and i think an old 19ft open bow is in that classification. Anyway glad you had fun and yeah any day boating is a great day.

I had a great day Saturday myself--Wife says 104F is too hot-I go out alone- went to turn on blower and would not come on.- after 5 min determined it was the toggle switch- ran to town and had new one installed in 45 min- pick up some "dock rat" friends at the marina and went to the sand bar hang out- about 50 boats-nice bikini clad scenery:cool: 80 degree water-met up with more lake friends and just had a great time.

We had a great day on Saturday as well. We knew the weather was going to turn, but figured we had a few hours. Launched the boat and went out just a couple of miles. Anchored and tried out the home made dog ladder. Swam for a bit, ate lunch, swam a bit more. Decided to look at the weather map on my phone and noted that it looked like rain was about 20 miles out. We headed into the ramp and it was completely empty. As I'm walking to the truck, I hear the first clap of thunder. Backed down to the ramp, looked out and there were about 12 boats lined up coming in. Got the boat on the trailer, pulled up to the parking area, put everything away and got the transom straps on just as the first drops were falling. 30 seconds after I get back in the truck, it was a torrential downpour. Couldn't have timed it better! Sometimes you just get lucky.
