what all type of powerheads will fit help...

It's a 76 johnson 35hp...im lookin on ebay but i dont know if a larger motor would fit my base??? and or the years that i need to look for any help???

The motor thats on there now it cranks right up and idels but wene i try to go it pops...it feel like it's want to go then it starts pop at wot and im done with it 2 years i been playin with this motor... thanks for yalls help!!!

Are you looking to replace the powerhead or the whole motor? Are you sure the popping isn't the clutch dog in the lower unit? Replacing the powerhead won't help that.

yea the powerhead... yea its the motor the boat wont run over 3mph if that then it shuts off an all... im just goning to put a new powerhead on there that is if i can fine a powerhead...ALL i need to know is whats the years that will fit my base thanks tho

1976-1978 25hp & 35hp are the only ones that will fit your midsection

Ohhhhh....my my.....I think you should check things out first, before you go through the expense of a powerhead. First off, I would at least get a compression check. Second of all, I would check your carb adjustments and the condition of your ignition system. A bad powerhead is not likely to create a lot of missing, but other problems (that have nothing to do with the posted here) such as unusual noises and a large variance in compression.

The things that i have done is got a carb off ebay newly rubuilt motor i put a new dog coil on it fuel lines rebuilt the ignition uhh that pretty much covers it...
