Hey guys... I own a 1982 15ft tidecraft bass boat and it came with a 1982 85hp suzuki 2 stroke engine. for some reason all of the used boats i have purchased over the years the tach and speedo are not working or have been disconnected. This boat of mine is no different other than this will be the first suzuki outboard engine i will have the pleasure of maintaining.. my question for all is what or where is the tach output wiring for this engine. My wiring diagram shows its some yellow wire somewhere in the bundle that runs in the loom into my engine somewhere? what do ya'll think.. thanks to all

Different manufactures use different color codes. If your manual states it is yellow wire that is probably correct. If you put the red lead of a digital multi-meter on that wire and the other lead to ground and set meter to ac you should see and increase in voltage as rpms rise. Works like that for Yamaha so should work for Suzuki too. Maybe other Suzuki owners will chime in. hope this helps.
