What am I new?

Does anyone know which is the correct way to install a new fuel filter (screen) on a Mercarb 2bbl? Which way does the Solid End of the Filter point? Does it go towards the Carb or the Fuel line??<br /><br />Thanks a bunch and sorry for being such a ROOK!!!

Mad,install the solid (closed) end toward the carb,as the fuel needs to go into and out of the filter media.If there is a spring it goes in before the filter.
