What boat is worth buying to restore when it comes to value? I am thinking about buying a 1969 19" Mako CC with a 115 Mercury engine for $2k. It will be my first boat and I don't know if the time and money that I will put it in be worth it. What do you guys think? Get it and put work into it or just keep looking?

Almost none, Grady's, Boston Whalers, and a few others can be worth a little money, but don't count on making a profit.

If you like the boat, want a project, have the time and money, then do it, just don't expect any kind of a return on investment.

agreed....a 19' mako needing tons of work is worth 1K, a completely restored mint 19' Mako is worth maybe 5K tops and thats if you have newer power on it.....

Theres plenty of reasons to restore an older boat but money aint one of them

And $2K would be very high for a 1969 boat and motor.

those old mako's are tanks,,great hulls.
99% sure you will be replacing the stringers and transom if it has not already been done.
As mentioned,,,highly dought any return on your investment and time,,,just break even,,,,but a solid classic hull you will have for sure.
