What brand gauges do you guys like? I have used Teleflex gauges before and thought they had a "cheap" feel to them, was wondering about Faria's and others. When you are off-shore and your gauges are hit and miss....well you know..

Just spent $450 on some Faria gauges. Thanks for the advice!

Sorry no one responded, guess it was just missed. So many threads and sometimes the generic questions get overlooked. Faria makes some good gauges, they should do you well.

They all kinda suck. There is no "Best" gauges as they are all air-core gauges (2 magnets, a chunk of plastic with wire wrapped around it). The best style of gauge would be a stepper motor style gauge

Thanks. I guess the best way to find out is to try some of them anyway. I will post my findings.

I totally understand what you are saying, but the average boater couldn't afford stepper motor designed gauges. AND, the average boater merely watches their gauges after something goes wrong, not before. I'm guilty of that as well. You watch them for a while and it gets old when everything is running great. And then something sounds funny or goes haywire and then the operator looks at the gauges... It is human nature.
