What brand of ignition coils?

I will be ordering new coils over the winter and wanted some feedback on Sierra,GLM or CDI. Any pros or cons on certain brands?
The CDI coils i can get for about 20 bucks each,about the same for Sierra and a few bucks more for GLM.

Is there a problem getting them from a Johnson/Evinrude Dealer?We do have to try and keep them in business.Those other companies make parts,not outboards.If you can't get original,a coil is just a coil.I'd opt for CDI.

I agree with the OEM coils. If I wasnt able to access a dealer I would opt with the CDI as previously stated due to their superiority over the Sierras.

Yea,i would like to have OEM but at near 40 bucks each at my local dealer i was considering the CDI instead.I want to replace all six of them and was not wanting to spend 240 on coils.I still have all original 1981 coils and wires and was doing this as part of my winter tune up and carb rebuild.Got the carbs done anyway.
Now if anyone knows a dealer that sells them reasonable that would work

hi gary the cdi coils come with premade wires the sierra doesnt i bought
a couple of sierra coils and my buddy bought six
between me and him we were missing several of the parts for the wire fab
in the sierra packs i gave him the parts out of mine and bought cdi
his are working fine but the cdi coils have a better thicker wire than
the sierra and there are no parts to lose .

Thanks Benny! Thats what i was thinking on the Sierra.I have never really liked Sierra parts anyway.CDI it will be,found them for 19.95 each..
Thats what i wanted was the thick plug wires that already had the ends on them.Too bad my local dealer is so high on parts.
