<br /><br />Self edit: This was a very old rant - that in hindsite was quite inflammatory. The main point was that I prefer brands and products that I associate with traditionally friendly countries to my own.

I shop for Quality,Brand reputation,Service at the store.<br /> There are so many company buy outs by Large Corporations,it is very difficult to determine exactly where a product is made and who own's the company.<br /> So Be IT!<br /> I appreciate your comments, and We here in the USA get upset with the way the politicans do stupit things, but that's AMERICA! ,and I spent 30 years in the Military.

Persuit - I agree that it's getting more complex to say what brand belongs to what country. I guess that's the global economy for you. Even the military is facing this problem, with the current enemy that doesn't even belong to a country (nor wear uniforms, nor stand up and face you for that matter)!<br /><br />Like DJohns, I'm also thankful to you and all other (US and Allied, past & present) military personel who's job involves putting your life on the line so the rest of us can live in a secure world.

I am Retired Coast Guard (3 yrs 7 mo 28 days). I have a 1984 F-150, a 1993 Mustang, a 1996 Glastron (GS160) and a 1979 Mercury 140 hp (Inline 6). Both the truck and car have a 302 cid engine and rear wheel drive. I know that ALL of these were made in the USA and I wouldn't have it any other way.<br /><br />Long life the United States of America!!!!

I look for a few things. Made in the USA, ease of repair, availability of parts, reputation of company. Price is at the end of the list for me. If it's made better or will last longer, I don't mind paying more.
