I have a 1985 140 hp Johnson and I would like to know whether the primer bulb is before the fuel filter/water seperator or after the filter. Does it make a difference? Thanks

Dude,
to keep it simple, this is easy to remember... On a vehicle of any kind, the first thing the fuel exiting ANY tank should see, is a filter, and in those instances where applicable, a water separator...

Good Luck, Obiwan

PS Joe is correct... I forgot to add the primer bulb goes AFTER the filter & seperator, and BEFORE the engine/fuelpump(s)... (think of it as the "lift" pump, that primes the fuel pump(s) on the engine...)

The fuel primer bulb should be between the fuel/water seperator and the engine.
