What controls will work for 2001 Mercury 175 efi

Hi all,

I recently repowered my 2004 Alumacraft Trophy 180 with a 2001 Mercury 175 efi. I did the motor swap myself from an Evinrude 115 and I came to learn switching brands posed some issues in itself. Dash gauges aren't set up to connect to the merc wiring (had to hard wire the tach), original oil/temp alarm gauge was for the Evinrude specifically, speedometer tube is different diameter, etc...

The original set up was a PANEL mounted control (which I sold with the Evinrude) with a separate key ignition not on the controls. The throttle lever was the only thing protruding from the side wall of the boat, with the cables and wiring inside and a straight shot down the gunnel. After a lot of searching, I was unsure of any panel mounts for the Merc so I ended up getting a side mount control box that I knew was the same style the Merc was originally connected to. I wanted the wire harness to match, and also the built in alarm. I have ran the boat several times and things work but I had to kink the cables a bit from the box back into the gunnels and its just not the way it should be.

Does anyone know of a PANEL mounted control that would work with this motor so that I can run the cables behind the side wall right from the controls and mainly that the control's wiring harness will plug right into my motors 8 pin plug? I am confused with the different wiring set ups (8 pin, 11 pin, 14 pin...) and what options there are to make this work the way it should be.

Faztbullet-
That is exactly the controls I want but it does not appear to have the big 8 pin wiring that goes from the controls to the motor...I guess that’s what I’m referring to when I say “wiring harness”

Teamster-
The side mount controls I bought has the key in it as well but I’m wanting a panel mount with the ignition separate.
It just seems when I look for panel mounts (like the link posted from Faztbullet) it doesn’t have the same wiring to the motor that the side mount control boxes do. Which is why I just ended up buying the side mount box because I knew it would plug right into the motor.

So does anyone have any insight on how the big 8 pin wiring (that currently connects to the side mount box) that has to connect to the motor can be used for panel mount controls?
Do the panel mount controls come with that wiring and I’m just being an idiot?
Any help is appreciated

TIA!

The concealed mount controls or panel mount as you call it does not have a wiring harness for motor, just safety switch and trim wires. You will need a dash mounted keyswitch harness for the 8 pin barrel connector.
