As a few of you may remember, a couple weeks ago I asked about taking off the engine hydrofoil, well I did so and started out in the morning 6 am and I admit it took a little to get used to because the boat would bounce up and down. I think its called porpoising (Did I spell that right?). But I did get it to plane on the proper place and even gained 4 mph.
However later that day when the waves got a little choppy, I could not get the boat to plane out at all, it bounced and bounced the entire time until I just ended up fast idling all the way back to the dock. I even tried not even trimming the boat at all and it still bounced badly (trim all the way down) Was it just how I was doing the takeoff to plane or am I missing something as far as controlability?
If I could take a guess, if I trimmed the boat just a tad, you could hear the boat losing its bite...does this mean the engine is too high?
Thanks for any help
Tom
