My old sea ray hull id is SER7M0890778-18510261-8. I think the SER is for sea ray and the rest must be a serial number and year? What about all the numbers after the dash?
Also this boat has a red and white inside with a what looks like a Red wings logo stitched into the motor cover. any thoughts?

SER7M0890778 is the hull ID Number . . . HIN . . . not sure what the additional numbers you placed are for. I know Sea Ray puts an extra set of numbers after or below their HIN

The only 2 things that you can gleam from an HIN is the manufacturer (SER = SeaRay) and the month/year made (last 4 digits) 07/78 . .. (IIRC). The rest is internally generated by the manufacturer and not necessarily of any meaning.

On mine (not a Sea Ray), the first 3 letters are mfg designation. next was the hull model designation. then the production month and year, last was the production number from the start of the run. I would guess that most would include this information in some format.
