I have a 1974 50hp Evinrude. Model # 50473M I found model 50473 in the sticky and it lists it as a 1974 50hp but what does the M mean? Its a mechanical shift, so that's the only thing I can think of??? Anyone know?? Thanks!!

Nothing! Just a production suffix
If there had been some mid year change the letter would have changed to reflect it but there wasn't, so it didn't!
