I made a couple short videos this afternoon of my 1994 Force 120 after I got it running. Maybe someone can listen to it and tell me what i might need to adjust to make it run smoother. I'm still having to clean out nasty fuel that had been sitting up before I got the boat. I am aware that it isnt running as smooth as it should be. Video #2 seem like its running a little better in, Ive run a lot of Sea foam through this motor. Thanks for any advise!

Sounds like it is missfires now and then.
Can be a fuel issue (water in it) or an ignition issue.

Get ridd of the old fuel and clean the carbs, fuel pump and fuel hoses.
Put in new fresh fuel and TCW-3 oil, 50:1 ratio and start from there. Then you know the fuel system is clean and start to check it out from there.

BTW put a clear inline filter in between the fuel pump and carbs, it will help you to troubleshoot the fuel system and also clean out the fuel (there is a filterscreen in the pump) but the inline filter will not hurt.

I believe after 93 on the 90/120/150 they installed a filter in the fuel system.
It's a tan color and you can't see through it.
Replace like Nordin suggested.

Seafoam really doesn't work.(my opinion)
It just adds stuff that doesn't burn real good to an already problematic system.
Drain the fuel, clean the tank.
Add dry gas if there might be a small amount of water??
Remember to add oil to offset the additives.

The motors no gonna run right till the waters and SF is gone.

The first couple of posts in this forum has tips and helps on making your outboard run better.

Running on a hose is good for initial operation but you need to be in the water to do get the best results.

From the smoke I see?? it needs to be ran and all the gunk ran out.

From you first comment, you stated that you had fuel issues and was still using that setup? :nono: The very first thing you have do is either use a divorced fuel tank and hose to work the engine, OR remove the tank and fuel lines and clean the tank and replace the fuel lines. You never troubleshoot things knowing you have a problem that could be causing the very issues you are trying to fix. :decision:

Thanks everyone ! Either this evening or tomorrow evening I'll be hooking up spare tank and hose
and taking it to the water for a test run.

Starting with the easy ones first:

1. Check all linkage on the carbs and timing tower make sure none is loose.
2. Use an external tank with fresh mix of fuel and oil to eliminate fuel issues
3. If you do not have one yet, install a clear fuel filter between the fuel pump outlet and the carbs' inlet. This is more for troubleshooting fuel related issues rather than a fuel filter. Make sure it is a clear filter.
4. If none of the above solve your issues, you will need to check the reeds. There are cheap mini borescope you can buy at the bidding store that you can use through the carbs. Meaning you can inspect the reeds without dismounting the carbs by simply opening wide the throttles.

I already have clear filter installed. I have actually had to change out the cartridge on it one time. I know most if not all my issues are with fuel.
And I do have a small tank and a different fuel hose so I can run it on, (All new) I also have the kits to rebuild the carbs and the pump
as well. It is now starting a lot faster than it did originally.. Now it will almost always start within the first 2 tries. I kind a figured the
smoke was from the sea foam.

Thanks for all the info
