I'm pretty sure its about that length. the transom has a tag above the mc-1 drive that states either 184hp or 147hp, cant remember though.. you happen to know what engine that is? all I know is its a 4-banger and I used to hate fixing the points on it lol.

is marquis the boat manufacturer or the model name?

Id guess its probably a Marquis boat, there are a few restore threads I found using the search. I didnt look at them all though, but there were IB on most of the ones I saw.

The prefix MRB in your hull ID led me to Marinaut, but that company is pretty new so Im sure its not one of those.

From the US Coast Guard web site:

'MRB' WAS MARQUIS BOAT, HARTSVILLE, SC; Out of Business 3/15/91

you would think with them being a company that operated from the 70's through early 90's I'd be able to dig up a little more info on them, oh well. wish I was at least able to find out more specific model information but I guess this will do.

Go to fiberglassics.com and you'll probably find more info. I have a 1977 Marquis catalog and that sure doesn't look like a Marquis.

Also, the CG web site is wrong. They went out of business in the late 1970's. Their Hartsville plant was bought by Stingray and reopened in about 1979.

Your pic shows a hull tag on the side near the transom just below the rubrail. What does that say?

Re: what does this transom number tell you?

was on there earlier after searching "Marquis boat, hartsville, sc" and saw a couple...I guess catalog pages...for 1972 models but that was about it.

best I could tell was it was the 2100 R model but that boat had different lines and the top cap had some weird ridge to it towards the back in front of the rear seats.

not really expecting much though considering the company was defunct when we were still messing around with windows 3.11 and 2800 baud modems.

or if you're correct...before the net was even public lol
