Re: What does XR2 stand for?

I think the XR2 is a bigger block than the normal 150. I'm not 100% sure on it, i know the XR4 is like a 2.4L block or something. J martin had explained it to myself as i'm not an outboard guy at all!

Re: What does XR2 stand for?

The XR series was bass bote motors. Good power, and a small lower, almost like the L6.

I think the XR2 has the same LU.

XR4 is a steel sleeved, 2.4 with a vert reed front, on a 4 inch LU with 1.78:1 geerz. Before the rating change it was the 175 HP. It puts out an honest 160 hp, right out of the crate, and the "advance" module holds it back a bit.

All the 2.0, 2.4, and 2.5 powerheads and LU's will interchange with minor changes, so when you buy a used engine, you could get almost any combination.

hope it helps

Is the XR2 steel sleeved?

What's the L6?
How many inches is the XR2 LU?
Which is the best of all LU?

Is the XR6 just the 2.5L powerhead?
