What fuel pump kit to buy?

I would like to order diaphram and gasket for 85hp Force/Chrysler 1989 motor. I am going to have to buy online but am having a hard time knowing what to buy because they want model #'s and stuff like that. Can anybody help me out here with part number i would need for this motor or feul pump kit number?

Right here on iboats you can buy the fuel pump kit for 15 bucks--- 18-7806. However, that includes the brass button valves. If you only need a diaphragm and gasket, your local mercury dealer should still be able to get it for you. diaphragm and gasket should cost around 5 bucks.

Thanks for your help Frank. I bought the gasket and diaphramg yesteday on the net. It seems like would be easy to replace, at least I hope. purchased clymer manual. Hopefully I can take apart on the side where the hoses go otherwise may take a bit longer and more to come off.

I believe you'll have to pop the ignition bracket off and move it to the side to get all the screws on the pump but it's easy. Just make sure you put it back together like you took it apart. Gasket goes against block diaphram in the middle and pump on diaphram.
