Hi all,

My father asked me to find out what gear lube should be used in his engine. Is a 1962 Johnson 40 hp (possibly 35hp but I think he said 40).

I have searched but am not getting any definitive answers.

Thanks for the help.

correct. 80-90 outboard gear oil, any brand. DON'T remove the phillips head screw, that isn't the drain!!!
