What bolts to the front of the carb on the force? My friend has one and it seems like something should be mounted there due to the pre tapped holes but nothing was there when he bought it. Just wondering.

Welcome, ,hey whenever you have a question just fill out the form to post a new thread/question, ask all the question you want the forum is here to help you with any motor questions..
Anyway welcome to the forum, peace, yes there's a almost square black plastic cover that has three screw holes in it for three screws to hold it on,we have a 125hp and that's what ours looks like. I think it's for backfire prevention, but not sure.
I would buy some if you see them on E-Bay or CL

The black plastic cover that suppose to be infront of the carb intake is a air silencer.
It should suppress the air intake sound and is not actually necessary for the performance.

It has nothing to do with backfires. Older Chryslers 3 and 4 cyl. engines had a big alu cover that had the same purpose and it also had to catch fuel from the carbs when engine was tilted up.

In the lower part of the cover there was a hose that was connected to the crankcase and routed the fuel back.

Not all had covers or plenums.
Now help us with some info.
Model year and HP will help.
The smaller Forces and Chryslers didn't have one.

We don't even know what motor the OP has. He may or may not have an air silencer.
