What am I a second class citizen or member here? Because I'm a Canuck? I have dual citizenship with the US of A. ya know. I turned 65 today and said to my lady not only the Feds are giving me a few hundred Samolians a month just for being old but my iboats friends will wish me a Happy Birthday, nothing, nienta, nitch, niema, nada. I'm sensitive you know plus she tells me I'm loosing it.

I get it, just bustin' your corleones. You guys do a fantastic job for us. I know you are all paid big bucks to do it too! Besides I really don't need to be reminded I'm that old. I never in my wildest dreams thought I would ever hit the big 6 5. That included Sat AM when my blood sugar went out of whack big time. 2 points below our Canadian diabetic coma range, we don't use the same scale as the US, why, who knows? My wife was very concerned, I didn't let on but so was I. A quick trip to our local Vets and he fixed me up. I used to have quick acting Insulin but was told to take it back to the pharmacy. Couldn't see, could hardly walk or talk Sat AM, let alone give myself a shot. More than a few over dosed on that stuff as they self injected far too much when their head wasn't right. I agreed. Told to call 911, Paramedics carry Apidra, fast acting Insulin.

The biggest concern I have is that Doc's are pulling peoples drivers licenses left right and centre for any reason. Buddy 73 yrs old had Cataract surgery last month. 2 days latter he got a registered letter from The Ministry of Transportation suspending his drivers licence indefinitely. I can't drive at night anymore. If I told my Physician that he would yank my drivers license in a NY minute. Doc's are covering their you know what's. When I know I am a hazard driving I won't renew my license.

I think everybody I know over 65 has got new eyeballs. I got mine done when I was 78 because night driving told me it was time. Just renewed my license last week, walked into the DMV wearing my work straw hat and Harbor Freight wrap around sunglasses (no white cane), Took off my glasses, signed my name on the line where the clerk said, got my photo taken and are good for four more years.

Happy Birthday OI! It's a bummer when we don't know 'em. Sorry we missed givin' ya' a shout out.

It amazes me what blood sugar can do. Even before you get up in the diabetic range, the effects are at least interesting if not a little sobering. There's a history of diabetes in my family, so I pay pretty close attention to what happening to me. So far I'm keeping ahead of it, but some of the stories are pretty creepy. You take care of yourself.

Ain't that the truth. I don't know exactly when it was but I started making "5 year plans" somewhere along the way. I realized the other day I am now making 1 year plans. Dad passed this past Spring at 92, he told me a few years back he plans on the next meal and that's about it, if he gets passed it that is a good thing.

I have not lost faith in the relationship we have between the 2 countries. 2 countries separated only by a common language.

Thanks all for the best wishes. Ok that's enough reminding me about getting old. My nieces put a few pics on Face Book with me and her babies. Man who's the guy with the grey balding hair that looks like he hasn't missed any meals lately??!! Oh man that be me.
