What Grease?

What is the best grease to use on an outboard?<br /><br />I have a gun with grease for my trailer bearings can I use the same grease on the ball hitch? There is a grease fitting there.<br /><br />Do I need three kinds of grease?

There is "marine grease" available from most any outboard dealer. It actually is different from most greases in that it's harder to wash away with water, and is loaded up with corrosion inhibitors. It works very well for the propshaft and naturally general lubrication on an outboard.<br /><br />But I live by the truism, "Any grease is better than no grease at all". Learned it here somewhere. :D

I use the same grease on everything, as long as it is always greased it's good to go ...

Bulwarks, I recommend "Boat Trailer Wheel Bearing" Grease. The trailer wheel bearings are the most demanding items you will be greasing on your boat/trailer combo. It is salt water resistant and hard to wash off. It will easly protect the pivot points of the outboard, propshaft and ball. It costs about .15 more than regular grease.
