what happens if you put the venturi in backwards?

The motor is a 1987 Classic fifty.

Part number 16, they were in backwards and I noticed when cleaning the carbs. Could that be an issue with it not running right?

It might cause the motor to run a bit strangely but I wouldn't expect a drastic effect. What are the symptoms?

When I tried to put it in the way the diagram shows it would not go, so there is only one way for them to fit. The boat is just a turd...
