Hi all,

I have a rude 30 1989 /90 with a cd2usl unit and I dont think it is reaching full revs ??, now I dont have a tacho but if i use the throttle linkage when the engine is running and the boat is underway it revs further due to me injecting more fuel by this linkage rather than with the stotor plate turning.

Now if the timming was 180 deg out would it rev to its maximum allowed / recommended.

The motor starts on the button but I :facepalm:dont feel is reving, also it does use allot of fuel.

Please can you advise

Many thanks

Many thanks for the link ........

Will try the ht leads around the other way first, but no other symptons apart from revving or lack of it, can is it possibe to remove the slow function by shorting out or removing the temp sender ???

Yes disconnecting the temp sensor would work, but is your motor overheating? The motor should be 145 degrees at operating temp.

No deffinately not over heating.

It runs sweet as a nut but I dont think it is reaching anything above 3000 rpm, is there anyway by using a multimeter that I can verify RPM, without the use of a tacho ...... dont want to spend any money unless i have to.

Kind Regards
