Hi,

I have an Evinrude 35 HP from '97.
I have the service manual but I can't seem to find any information on these 3 "things".

Thing 1: Is a cork, when removed you can attach a small tube. But for what purpose?

Thing 2: is a valve similiar to a air valve from a tire. But what is the purpose?

Thing 3: is a free hanging thin tube connected to a spigot, I guess that the tube has oil in it. The end of the tube is a bit melted. But what is the purpose with this tube?

Any help is appreciated. Thanks

# 1 is where the electric primer would hook up on electric start models.-----Thingy # 2 is for injecting engine tuner or fogging oil.-----Thingy #3 is an oil return line from bottom of the engine to the top and it must be replaced.-----Is the oil injection tank and mixer taken off this motor , yes or no ?

#1: Thanks :)
#2: Thanks
#3: I just found that the tube is melted over and I found where it should be connected. I will replace that tube.

The injection tank is still on. I will remove it when I get the engine running.

I guess that the engine has been too hot. But I had it started once for about 10 seconds, but at the moment I have no sparks and am still debugging. Any ideas?

Too hot ???----Have you looked at the water pump ?----Do a compression test and report the numbers.------There are a number of similar wee hoses on the side of the engine that may need to be replaced.-------Great motor , but ignition parts can be a bit spendy !

I guess that the former owner had a heat problem since the little hose is melted. I will replace it.

But as said, I had the engine running once, but only once for about 10-15 seconds until I turned it off by using the killwire to ground. So I know it can start. But right know I dont have spark on any sparks. (Sparks is correct brand/model, brand new and testet)

The compression numbers is 105, 107, 112.

I have changed the impeller and the rest of the water pump looks good to me.
I have also changed all the wire connectors to brand new and measured every wire from end to end for connectivity.

I have done some tests according to the service manual, measured the power coils, looks good. Measured the stator, looks good too.

Do you got an idea for next step?

I have one more thingy #4, I am unsure about.
As I see it, it is connected to the vertical black thing just behind the red 2 I have drawn on the other picture (you see 2 hoses connected to it)
What make me unsure, is that the #4 is just laying there, but I cannot see a connector for it anywhere. Is it supposed to lay there and for what purpose?

Is that the same size / type of hose that goes to the fitting at the top of the block as per posting # 1 and thingy # 3 ---- ????

No, the no. #1 fitting and #3 hose is very small.
The #4 is large, the hose hole is 5 mm.

I was mistaken. It does NOT connects to the vertical black thing.

The hose is connected to at the very bottom of the black "wall". Behind the carb. Same "wall" as the carb is skrewed to.

Just got my question answered (another user had the exact same question at the same time).
#4 is the hose goes to the nipple on the intake air box.

Can you suggest what my next move should be. I feel I have tried everything and my thougths right now is cruising around maybe there is some sort of a switch somewhere (neutral switch or something else) that prevent it from sparking.
But nothing jumps in my eyes.

not sure what model you have, but if a tiller present there should be a stop switch about half way down. If the switch is malfunctioning, the motor will crank but there might not be spark.

It is a Evinrude 35HP (3-cyl) from 1997. Model: E35KLEUR. I dont have a tiller. I have disconnected the kill wire (blakc/yellow) so it is hanging in air from the CDI box.
