I have a 1999 40 Force with a 10-1/8 x 15 3 blade aluminum prop on a 16 foot aluminum bass tracker. The motor idles at 3000 rpms and at full throttle hits 8000 rpms. As far as I know the prop is the highest pitch for that motor. How can I fix this problem. The mannual states it should idle at 750 rpms and full throttle between 4750 - 5250 rpms.

Howdy, Rod bender.

I suspect that your tach is set up incorrectly. That engine would blow up at 8000rpm under load.

Good luck. :)
