I have wondered what this small filter is that looks steel wool. I knew it was there and the manual talks about cleaning it but don't know what the heck it does. From what i can tell air does not go through it so whats the point? Mine has what looks like small pieces of grass in it along with dirt so i know i need to order a new one. Not sure it i can blow it out. What do you guys think? Thanks in advance

Hi. It just that. It’s an interface between the outside works and the intake side of the throttle body. Just a wee barrier. If it’s dirty or oily. Change it. They are cheap as chips. You’ll be hunting and the IAC will be working hard if it’s reatricted.
