What is it, Suzuki or Cabrea ? HELP!

Hello all, this is my 1st post and I need help. Just bought a pontoon boat with what is supposed to be a 1988 Suzuki DT 50. I went to my local Suz. dealer to get a water pump impeller and this is where the problems began. After he looked in the parts book he came back and told me that they didn't make a DT50 in1988. I assured him they did and that I had one with a title to prove it. Anyway he gave me an impeller for a '84 or '85 DT50, but its way too small. Called another dealer who said it may be a Cabrea since it is white. I've never heard of this. Does anybody know anything about this??? I need to find parts and Suzuki Technical Support was NO help.

what is the serial number and full model number

Suzuki stopped making the 50hp 2-stroke in 1984 as far as I know, we need the full serial number to give you more info ....

I believe this is the serial number. 05003 803217. It is what I have written down but not sure if its the right one. The boat is not here at present so I cant verify. There is a metal tag on the motor that says DT50. It is solid white with Suzuki on the cowl. It is 2 cyl. 2 stroke, oil injected. I did find an impeller to fit it and it was the same part as for a DT85. Does any of this make any sense? What is a Cabrea? Is it good or bad? The motor runs great and I was told by the seller that it has never had a wrench on it. I believe it because the impeller had never been replaced. I was told by an outboard mechanic that these motors were built by another company that used a bunch of Suzuki reject parts to build them. Anybody know?

I was told by a merc dealer that used to sell zukis that the cabrea was marketed as a slightly cheaper model and the name had something to do with Califonia but I can't remember what is was. I have discovered that some parts are different from the DT line, but it is the same engine. "" ..... if the DT85 impellar fits and it works then well done ....
