what is it?

I have an old outboard motor that runs great! I have no idea what it is? its looks like an old johnson. but, I dont know the hp. rating?<br />The #'s on the motor are..(4w79d) If anyone could help me with any information on this motor,it would be greatly helpful. Is the motor big enough for a 12 ft. flatbottom jon-boat? Im 250lbs.<br /><br />Thanks ya'll<br /><br />Marshall

Hey!!! Thanks for the quick info on my motor..I knew it couldnt be that big. I live near 4...300 acer lakes. and Lake ouchita. Im going to put it on my 12' flatbottom jon-boat to get me to my spot. Then use my trolling motor to get up and down the banks.<br />Thanks for the help,<br /><br />Marshall<br /><br />P.S. 7 to 8 mph? could I chang the prop? or is there just one pitch for that size motor?
