what is Loop Charged

Hi again, Have a Johnson 1969 55 Horse Hydro Electric Drive Loop Charged Model # 55ESL69A, (Has a few problems) it runs on a part time basis. My question is what dose a Loop Charge mean and how dose it effect the running of the motor.
Next question when in the water (fresh water only) I can run at full throtle for about 5 min. then motor cuts out (stops) very frustrating!!!

The usual reason for a motor stopping as you describe is that it is running out of fuel. That could be because of blocked fuel tank ventilation, failed anti-siphon valve, reversed primer bulb, failing fuel pump, or failing float valve(s).


Overheating engines will bind and cut out as well.
