I recently bought this outboard at an estate sale. judging by the serial number i think its made in 79. Cant seem to find one for sale anywhere. was wondering if anyone on here could estimate its worth for me as i am interested in re selling it. it has good compression but i havent even tried to get it to fire yet. best and worst case scenario? mod# VWB 52004D thanks in advance for any answers!

Realistically, it is not worth much--100 bucks or so. However, I have seen Sea King engines (9.9) go on ebay for upwards of several hundred dollars. My advice if you want to maximize return would be to put it on ebay with a reserve and require buyer to pay shipping.

You can also try craigslist for about 200 OBO and see what offers you get.

a sea king that worked 20 years ago is maybe worth what you paid, invest some time and money to make it work right, and you will be very lucky to break even in the end. jmo

IMO you won't get much for it unless you can demonstrate that it runs and shifts properly. If it's functioning properly then I agree with somewhere between $100 and $200,
