I know this probably sounds dumb, but I want to confirm. What is the HP range for 76 degree motors? Also does this hp range cover both carbureted and injected engines that are 76 degree; and does year matter and 2 stroke/4 stroke?

Thank you in advance for clearing this question up for me.

year doesnt matter near as much as model number.
the 3.1L 76 degree motor was a carbed version until about 1996 and after that EFI.
it was produced in 200,225 and 250 HP versions. also used 3 different ign systems.
so far no 76 degree 4 strokes.
what are you trying to confirm and why?

Thanks for the help. The reason I am asking is this...I bought a parts Yamaha motor from a shop. He also offered me a deal that I couldnt refuse on some nice empty gearcases and told me they fit 76 degree engines. I wanted to sell them and wanted to make sure I didnt tell anyone that they would fit something that they wouldnt.

gonna strictly depend on the year model for empty cases sales.
also left and right hand cases are different.
me, I would not as SEI sells COMPLETE cases for about 800 dollars.

Ok good to know. I actually did a lot of research in SEI a while back and found out some things I didnt like. They are full if chinese guts and a couple of the shops in the area actually stopped selling them because they were breaking and making them look bad. I like the warranty, but I figured it doesnt matter too much when I have to get towed in from 30 miles out. Thanks again Rodbolt, much appretiation for the help!
